PFC Community Sports Program clinic - June 30, 2010

PRAHRAN Football Club's Community Sporrts Program celebrated its 10th year of operation with a well attended Footy Fun Day at Toorak Park on June 30.
More than 60 children - about 50 per cent from the Horace Petty Housing Estate- joined in a footy clinic with CSP manager Dale Tapping, North Melbourne defender Daniel Pratt, Prahran U12s coach Steve Zayler and Prahran players Leigh Northway, Dan James and Michael Scicluna.
After the clinic players enjoyed a sausage sizzle and sample bag kindly provided by our sponsor Bendigo Bank East Malvern Community Branch.
The CSP program will continue in local primary schools and Currajong Special Needs School this year and special sessions will be at the Adventure Playground during school holidays.
The CSP program was founded by Derek Hine, now national recruiting manager of Collingwood Football Club.

Prahran Football Club Community Sports Program 2010

OUR Community Sports Program goes into its 10th year in 2010 on May 3 under manager Dale Tapping.
Established in 1999 by Derek Hine, now national recruiting manager at Collingwood, and operational since 2000, the CSP is an integral part of the Prahran Football Club’s community involvement.
We again owe our gratitude to Bendigo Bank East Malvern Community Branch for their sponsorship.
Dale and his assistants from PFC and Swinburne students will be decked out in new apparel this year as you see in this photograph.
Dale is a past Prahran premiership player in 1987 and successful coach with Old Brighton and Old Scotch in the VAFA and is presently coach of Sandringham Dragons in the TAC Cup.
The CSP program providing ball skills and games takes in eight schools in Stonnington , the school students ranging from prep to grade 6.
The feedback from all participants has been extremely positive, and they have all expressed great interest in the program returning each year. We will also run sessions for the Housing Commission each Friday afternoon which has been well received throughout this year.
